Museumssonntag

June 2024

2 Jun 2024, 12 PM–7 PM

Who owns the city?

To what extent does the climate influence urban planning? What needs do Berlin’s residents have? And what initiatives and ideas are needed to make Berlin a better place to live for people and animals?

The Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge opens with „Profitopolis or the Condition of the City“ its first exhibition at the new premises. On Museumssonntag, the focus will therefore be on the city. Old and current questions about climate and transport, the handling of historical buildings and housing and land issues will be highlighted.

The motivation for this exhibition is the cancellation of the Kreuzberg museum space by a real estate fund and the resulting forced change of location. Shaping the city is political!

On Museumssonntag you can discover exciting, informative or funny stories about Berlin in the exhibition “Profitopolis or the Condition of the City” and take part in free drop-in workshops or guided tours.

Museumssonntag ist an initiative of the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt of the Land of Berlin in co-operation with the Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien.
