“Florena” was the best-known cosmetic brand in the GDR. Its typical packaging – a blue and white tin – recalls the design of West German “Nivea” products.
A new and uniform advertising campaign that started in 1967 presented the brand while focusing on themes such as family, seasons, and leisure.
This ad, published on the back cover of “Sibylle” magazine issue February 1969, and other “Florena” products are currently on display in the special exhibition “Masse und Klasse: Graphic Design in the GDR”.
