Around 15,000 objects are on display, dating from the twentieth century to the present day. They have been invented and designed, produced and traded, bought and used, repaired and discarded. Seen together in all their variety, they raise questions about what objects mean to us, how we live with them and the part they play in our everyday lives.
The Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge takes a critical look at the strategies of the Werkbund and the product culture of modernism, considering them against the backdrop of a globalised world and far-reaching social and ecological change.
The tour is free with standard museum admission. No booking is required.
