There isn’t much we know about this snapshot of three friends.
Who took it and why? Who did it belong to? This photograph is representative of the universal practice of private photography and probably everybody can recognise a part of themselves in its various forms of expression: the desire to make a precious moment last forever, framed pictures as a gift, or symbolically carrying with you dear memories or loved ones.
This photograph is on display in the new special exhibition “FOTO | ALBUM. Private and Anonymous Photography from the Collection Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge”, which will open on October 19, 2017, at 7 pm.
