We are moving, we are building something new!

At the end of 2023, the Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge has relocated to its new interim location in Leipziger Straße 54 in Berlin-Mitte.

After the lease was terminated by an anonymous real estate fund, the museum had to leave Oranienstraße and Kreuzberg after 17 years.

We would like to thank everyone who helped us move thousands of objects, documents, books, office furniture, various technology and many unidentifiable cables – everything arrived safe and sound. Now it’s time to build up and furnish the new museum location. This work will take some time.

The museum doors will open gradually from spring 2024:

On 22 May 2024 with the exhibition “Profitopolis” and on 8 November 2024 with the new permanent exhibition.

The preparation of the museum space was made possible through funding from the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt.

The move, re-equipment and presentation of the permanent exhibition at the new location is made possible through funding from the LOTTO-Stiftung Berlin.

The exhibition “Profitopolis” is supported by the Hauptstadtkulturfonds.

Until the opening, we will keep you updated here and on social media about the unpacking and constructing!
