In this workshop, you’ll get hands-on with a material of the future: translucent film made from apple pomace. Working with its distinctive look and environmental qualities, you’ll design your own lampshade. Rather than striving for industrial perfection, you’ll play with light, texture and the tactile qualities of this circular material.
Verena Brom studied at the weißensee academy of art berlin and is a material designer and co-founder of the Berlin-based regenerative design start-up “A Matter of Fruit”. The company turns by-products from the local juice industry into biodegradable, entirely plant-based films and designs.
